SODA Policies

Registration and Enrollment

  • Registration is completed online or in person.
  • Class placement is based on age, experience, and instructor recommendation.
  • Changes to placement may occur within the first 6 weeks of classes
  • Enrollment is first-come, first-served.

Tuition and Payments

  • Tuition is due on a monthly basis (unless otherwise stated).
  • Registration fees will be collected upon enrolment 
  • Payments can be made via studio portal or e-transfer.
  • Late payments may be subject to a fee.
  • Returned/NSF payments may incur additional charges.
  • Tuition is non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances.

Withdrawal Policy

  • We require 30 days written notice to withdraw from a class.
  • Tuition is still required during the notice period.
  • No refunds are issued for missed classes.

Attendance

  • Consistent attendance is important for student progress and group learning.
  • If a student will be absent, please notify us in advance.
  • Make-up classes are not guaranteed.
  • Excessive absences may impact participation in performances.

Dress Code

Students are expected to arrive dressed appropriately for their class:

  • Proper dancewear and footwear are required for safety and technique.
  • Hair should be secured away from the face.
  • No jewelry (except small studs).
  • Bare feet are acceptable for certain classes.
  • No restrictive clothing. (jeans, belts, buttons etc.)
  • Please review dress code specifics for each class

Classroom Etiquette

We aim to create a respectful and focused learning environment:

  • Students should listen and follow instructor guidance.
  • Kindness and respect toward others is expected at all times.
  • Disruptive behavior may result in removal from class.
  • Phone use will not be permitted during class. 

               All communication to students can be done through the studio directly

Health and Safety

  • Please keep students home if they are unwell.
  • Injuries must be reported to the instructor before class begins.
  • Emergency contact information must be kept up to date.
  • We strive to maintain a safe and clean environment for all.

Performances and Costumes

  • Participation in performances is encouraged 

               but may be optional depending on the program.

  • Costume fees and deadlines will be communicated in advance.
  • Attendance at rehearsals is important for participation.

Studio Closures

  • SODA will be closed on statutory holidays.
  • Unforeseen closures will be communicated via email/social media.
  • Classes missed due to closures may not always be rescheduled.

Communication

We value open and respectful communication:

  • Primary communication will be via email/app.
  • Please allow up to 24–48 hours for responses.
  • We ask that all concerns be addressed respectfully and directly with the studio director.

Inclusivity and Code of Conduct

 SODA is a safe space for everyone:

  • We have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, discrimination, or harassment.
  • All students, families, and staff are expected to contribute to a positive environment.
  • We celebrate diversity and welcome dancers of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities.

Privacy

  • Personal information is collected only for registration and communication purposes.
  • We do not share or sell your information.
